In some ways it seemed like destiny. Muttpop was an up and coming Designer Toy company that did a few collaborations with Frank Kozik. Jamungo was an up and coming Designer Toy company that did a few collaborations with Frank Kozik.

Platform Toys (like Qees, Dunnies, and BUDs) were something that Muttpop liked but never had an interest in developing on it's own. Platform toys are about creating an interesting shape that gives Artists to create on...but Muttpop is about realizing 2D characters into 3-dimensions.
So when Ferg and Van Meter approached us with the prospect of doing something with their Blow Up Doll platform toy, we were fair game. We loved the BUD shape and thought it'd be fun to reinterpret our character in a manner that respected and embellished the BUD's original form.

Since the BUDs are way smaller than our Lucha Libre figure line, we decided use the simpler interpretation of Tequila that Gobi designed for our limited run of T-shirts. We added some high-rise pants, nipples, the poncho cactus pattern, and a cactus matchstick.

Bam. Tequila at his sexiest! ;-)
